Coach Cherale
I grew up on Oahu, HI and have been playing basketball since the 5th grade. Attended basketball clinics at one of the premier clubs on the island and eventually assisted with weekly skills camps. Played 4 years Varsity at Maryknoll High School. Coached high school girls basketball for two years at my Alma mater after graduating. Have coached with GYB for one season prior to Covid. I am still actively playing in a women's league comprised of former high school and college players. I love basketball because it not only fosters my competitive nature, but it also prepares you for life. Basketball promotes teamwork, responsibility, discipline, and confidence. I have been blessed to meet other women with like minded values and goals.

As a passionate advocate for basketball, I've embarked on a journey that spans both playing and coaching, driven by a deep-rooted love for the game. Having honed my skills on the court as a player in NJCAA D1 women's basketball, I understand firsthand the transformative power of basketball. It instilled in me values of discipline, hard work, and perseverance, shaping me into the person I am today. Basketball is the best thing to happen in life. Coaching is a way to stay involved with this sport that I love. My goal as a coach is to impact and push my athletes to be the best version of themselves on and off the court.
